Hello and welcome to my Hub!
I am the very proud mother of two adult daughters and one extremely precious grand-daughter who calls me ... Nanny. They ARE the greatest accomplishments of my life. In them I see the promise of the furture and the relevancy of the past.
Some of my favorite things to do are: Reading, Writing and NO NO NO... not arithmetic...
I do enjoy most genres of music from classical (I love listening to most string instruments, especially the cello) to heavy metal. The one genre I have a hard time with is Rap, maybe it is my age, I am not sure, but I just don't get it. While I am in no means against it, I prefer not to listen to it, as they say..."to each their own".
I was born with a pencil and a book in my hand, at least that is what my Mom tells me. I began reading at a very young age. According to my Mom I was reading simple sentences at the age of nearly 3. I have not stopped since.
I began writing poems by the age of 6. It is often hysterical to look back and reread those early attempts. I have numerous notebooks filled with such writings.
At present, I am attempting to write my first novel. An arduous task at best, but I am determined to bring it to fruition. I am also working on a childrens book that I am entering in a contest (wish me luck).
My other passion is...I am a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and have been since SBV (for those of you who don't know SBV was played in January of 1971 for the conclusion of the 1970 season). Prior to that superbowl, I had been a Baltimore Colts fan for that one season (my first year as a football fan).
My Dad was an avid football fan and liked both the Eagles and Redskins. Once that game came on and I saw the team with a blue star on it's helmet and it was love at first sight for me. Even though Dallas lost the game 16 - 13, from that day till now I live, breath and bleed royal blue and silver!
I hope you enjoy what I write and will come back often.
Here's to your Happy Hubbing!
Have a blessed day!
